This is an excellent book
that has many good colour photographs to explain the kitchen design requirements;
a wonderful guide for both the lay person and the professional.
Abstract
This handbook provides guidance for people who wish to prepare a brief for their new kitchen and more effectively communicate their needs to kitchen designers. The aim of this Handbook is to prepare customers for the design process, to clarify their needs and desires and to enable them to present the kitchen designer with a clear outline, in the form of a design brief, to ensure that their expectations are met. The Handbook has been endorsed by the Housing Industry Association.
Note:
In 2004 it was announced that the current "Kitchen Standards" were to be reviewed by a technical sub committee of
Standards Australia
and a new Handbook was also planned for 2005 incorporating the many substantial changes
in existing Australian Standards in associated industries, i.e. electrical appliances etc. However it seems that there is currently no sub-committee for Domestic Kitchen Design or Installation (in the HB series) in existance.
